The procession was brought out from Sitakunda on Friday afternoon and, after parading through various roads, ended at College Road area. From the procession, people from all walks of life were urged to take part in the long march.
At the post-procession rally, Jamaat leaders said the long march of the 11-party alliance is an important programme to accelerate the movement for realising the six-point demand. They called upon everyone to get involved in making it a success peacefully and in an orderly manner.
Leaders and activists of various levels of the municipal and upazila Jamaat took part in the procession. At the same time, the leaders expressed their determination to build a social movement with the people to make Sitakunda free from drugs, terrorism and crime.
