Mohammad Ibrahim Munsi, joint director of Bangladesh Bank's Foreign Exchange Reserve and Treasury Management Department, confirmed the information on Sunday.
According to the International Monetary Fund's accounting method BPM-6, the country's reserve stands at $31.47 billion.
Meanwhile, in the first five days of September, $435.9 million in remittances arrived in the country. At Tk 123 per dollar, the amount is approximately Tk 5,361 crore.
