Expressing concern over the current situation in Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina claimed that militant forces are on the rise in the country. She commented that this could affect India's security and regional stability as well as Bangladesh.

Sheikh Hasina also raised questions about India's position regarding Bangladesh's elections and the return of Tarique Rahman to the country. She said the Indian government itself can better explain what considerations led it to support Bangladesh's elections and assist Tarique Rahman in returning.
