Hong Kong is currently the seventh largest source of foreign investment for Bangladesh. The agreement is likely to further increase Hong Kong's investment in Bangladesh. Investment flows may increase in various promising sectors, especially ready-made garment and textile industries.

According to relevant data, Bangladesh has received about 750 million US dollars in foreign direct investment from Hong Kong in the last five years. Of this, 122 million dollars came in 2025 alone.
