Abu Bakar Majumder has been elected central president and Tahmid Al Mudassir Chowdhury general secretary in the first council of National Chhatrashakti, the associate student organisation of the National Citizen Party. Abu Touhid Md. Siam has been elected organising secretary.
The new leadership was elected through direct and secret votes of councillors from 10 am to 12 pm on Saturday at the Battala adjacent to the Faculty of Arts building of Dhaka University. More than three hundred councillors from across the country took part.

From 2 pm to 4:30 pm, a discussion meeting marking the council was held at the same venue. Central leaders of the party, including National Citizen Party convener and opposition Chief Whip Nahid Islam, took part.

Later, a procession was brought out at 5 pm. A cultural programme was organised from 7 pm to 10 pm. Various artists performed music.
