They were detained in a raid in the Kashikapon Tero Mile area of Dayamir Union of Osmaninagar Upazila at around 9:45 pm on Friday (18 September).

The detainees are—Sabbir Ahmed Biplob (26) of Tuker Bazar area of Sylhet Sadar Upazila, Nahid Hasan (21) of Shekghat area of Sylhet city, and Hriday Pal (20) of Shibbari Paitpara of South Surma Upazila.

Police said that acting on a tip-off, they were detained along with evidence while preparing for the torch procession. Based on information provided by the detainees, operations are ongoing to arrest the fugitives.

The information was disclosed in a press release signed by Sylhet's Assistant Superintendent of Police (Media) Md. Samrat Talukder. The release also mentioned that legal action is being taken against the three detainees.
