Citizens must also take responsibility alongside the government to prevent dengue: PM
Prime Minister Tareque Rahman has called on citizens to play a responsible role in addition to the government's initiatives to prevent dengue. In particular, he urged students and young people to take responsibility for keeping residential buildings, educational institutions and the surrounding environment clean.

He said these things while addressing BNCC and Scout members during an inspection of a cleanliness drive at Rajuk Uttara Model College in the capital on Saturday (October 17).

The Prime Minister said the most effective way to tackle dengue is prevention. For this, the surroundings must be kept clean and social awareness must be built to stop littering. Rather than relying only on the city corporation or the administration, every citizen must fulfill their responsibility from their own position.

He further said that although initiatives have been taken to install dustbins and plant trees in various places in the capital, incidents of theft of dustbins and tree saplings have occurred in some places. The Prime Minister called on citizens to be aware and responsible in preventing these.
