Preparation for book distribution before the new year, Prime Minister's directive
The government wants to hand over new textbooks to students after the final exams in December this year. To this end, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has instructed to complete all preparations by November.

On Monday (July 6) morning, Education Minister Ehsanul Haque Milon informed journalists of this information after a meeting reviewing the progress of the textbook publication program with the Prime Minister at the Secretariat.

He said, the government is working with the aim that students receive new books at the beginning of the new academic year. Detailed discussions were held with the Prime Minister on the progress of preparations in this regard.

The Education Minister said the government is ready to face possible challenges in printing books. The tender process is already underway and printing presses will be given work orders by early August. After that, the work of printing books will start quickly.

He further informed that some revisions are being made to the national curriculum. As part of this, four new books will be added to various classes.

In response to a question about the teacher shortage in language education, Ehsanul Haque Milon said that recruiting teachers in this sector is a big challenge. However, he informed that the process of recruiting necessary teachers for language education will start from next year.
