SSC result slump leaves over 13.5 lakh seats vacant in Class XI
Although colleges will have about 25 lakh seats for admission to Class XI this year, more than 13.5 lakh seats will remain vacant due to the fall in pass rate in SSC and equivalent examinations, said Professor Dr. Syed Akhtaruzzaman, president of Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and chairman of Dhaka Education Board.

He shared this information at the SSC and equivalent examination results publication ceremony held in the conference room of the Ministry of Education on Monday (August 10).

This year, 11,38,877 students passed the SSC and equivalent examinations. The average pass rate is 62.25 percent. As a result, the number of seats at the college level is more than double the number of students. Syed Akhtaruzzaman said the admission process for Class XI must be completed by September 15.
