Scale of Government's Failures Heavier in Six Months: Khilafat Majlis
In a central executive meeting, leaders of Khilafat Majlis reviewed the first six months of the BNP-led government and said that continuing support for July martyrs and the injured, following austerity measures in public administration, special initiatives to reopen closed factories, and some programmes for agricultural loan waivers could be counted as successes. However, due to failure to control high inflation, resolve the gas and power crisis, and improve law and order, public suffering has reached extreme levels. The government has also failed to ensure immediate energy security. In important administrative appointments, including in the Local Government Division, partisan and unqualified individuals are being placed. Over the past six months, the scale of their failures has been heavier.

The leaders also expressed concern that BNP wants to amend the Constitution through its own process, ignoring the majority people's verdict. However, the people want such reforms to the existing Constitution that would block all paths for the re-establishment of autocracy and fascism. To achieve this, the full implementation of the July National Charter and the referendum verdict is essential. This can be done through the formation of a Constitutional Reform Council, which would have the structural authority for fundamental constitutional changes. The majority of the people have already given that authority through their 'Yes' vote in the referendum.

We demand that the government, respecting the people's verdict, immediately take effective initiatives to form a Constitutional Reform Council in Parliament and fully implement the July Charter. At the same time, we strongly demand necessary steps to expedite the trial process of the July and Shapla massacres and other fascist anti-state forces.
