On Wednesday (September 2) at 9 pm, the delegation, led by BKMEA President Mohammad Hatem, took part in the meeting at the Ameer of Jamaat's office in Bashundhara.
The meeting discussed the overall situation of the country's garment industry. In particular, business leaders shared their views on the energy crisis including electricity and gas, problems in the banking sector, and various obstacles and prospects for trade and commerce.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman listened attentively to the business leaders' remarks. Noting the significant contribution of the garment industry to the country's economy and employment, he assured them of necessary cooperation in resolving the existing problems.
The meeting emphasised continuing mutual cooperation to develop the trade, commerce and industrial sectors, create an investment-friendly environment, and further strengthen the national economy.
The BKMEA delegation included Senior Vice President Amal Poddar, along with Director and former Executive President Mansur Ahmed, Directors Md. Jamal Uddin, Md. Salahuddin Ahmed Shamim, and Md. Moniruzzaman. Also present were IBWLF Secretary General Dr. Anwarul Azim and BGMEA Standing Committee Chairman Mozammel Hoque Bhuiyan.
