At a press conference at the Pabna Journalists Union office on Thursday (September 24), Rahat's father, farmer Md. Munnuch Ali, said that on the afternoon of August 9, Rahat went out riding bicycles with friends and went missing. Although he was supposed to return home by 7 pm, he did not return.
The next morning, his bicycle and shoes were found on the bank of the Padma beside Mazpara Eidgah ground, adjacent to Gupinpur graveyard in Manikhat Union. Because these were lying at that place far from home, the family expressed suspicion.
Munnuch Ali claimed that on the day Rahat went missing, between 6 pm and 7 pm, a CNG and several motorcycles were suspiciously present in the area. However, without accusing anyone, he demanded that the matter be investigated to uncover the real incident. At the same time, he called for his son to be rescued alive.
Regarding Rahat's disappearance, his father filed a GD at Sujanagar Police Station on August 10 and a case on charges of abduction on August 16. Currently, the case is being investigated by the police's Detective Branch (DB).
Pabna District Detective Police OC Abdus Salam said work is underway with top priority to rescue Rahat. Various units of the district police are active day and night. He has not yet been traced, but efforts to rescue him are continuing.
