Speaking as the chief guest at the World Pharmacists Day and reception ceremony, he said that for quality healthcare, emphasis must be placed on safe and effective medicines, skilled pharmacists, and research and innovation alongside treatment.

At the event held at the auditorium of the University of Asia Pacific (UAP) in Farmgate, Dhaka, the minister said students' interest in pharmacy education is increasing in the country. The participation of talented students in pharmacy departments of medical colleges and universities, especially the participation of female students, is a positive sign.

Noting that medicines made in Bangladesh are being exported to more than 160 countries, he said the country's pharmaceutical industry has established an important position in the international market. To maintain this progress, pharmacists must increase their research, skills, and innovative capacity.

Regarding the relationship between the media and doctors, the health minister said they are not opponents of each other. When problems and limitations in healthcare are highlighted in the media, opportunities for correction are created and the quality of service can be improved.

Acting Vice-Chancellor of UAP Professor Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, along with officials from the Bangladesh Pharmacy Council, the Faculty of Pharmacy of Dhaka University, and relevant UAP officials, were present at the event.
