On Friday (October 16), a 25-member biennial executive council for the 2027-28 term was formed at a general meeting on the Jahangirnagar University campus. In the previous committee, Babul Hossain served as office secretary.

Babul Hossain, who has been working in the Public Relations and Publication Office at PUST for about 12 and a half years, earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in Mass Communication and Journalism from the University of Dhaka. He also writes a regular column in national newspapers.

In the new committee, Dr. Mohammad Mohiuddin (Sumon), Director of the Public Relations Office of Jahangirnagar University, has been made president, and Md. Samsul Alam (Shibli), Deputy Director of the Public Relations and Press Publication Office of Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University, has been made general secretary.

Other office-bearers of the committee include Senior Vice-President Rafiqul Islam Panna; Vice-Presidents Mohammad Ali and Md. Nazrul Islam; Joint General Secretaries Khalilur Rahman and Md. Saiful Islam; Organizing Secretary Mohammad Al-Amin Khan; and Office Secretary Farhad Rahman Sarkar.

The new committee was announced unanimously at the meeting, presided over by outgoing President Md. Abul Kashem Shikdar. After the meeting, leaders of the outgoing committee handed over responsibilities to the new committee.

It may be noted that BAPAJAS began its journey in 2020 with the public relations officers of the country's public universities.
