He made these remarks during a discussion meeting with the families of the martyrs of the July mass uprising and the wounded July fighters on Thursday (July 30) afternoon.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “Allah will not forgive us if we betray the July fighters. The people's verdict will be implemented on the soil of Bengal. We will never bow down to injustice.”
He further said, “The July revolution was not to remove one party and bring another to power.”
The Ameer of Jamaat claimed that the party never compromised with autocracy. He said, “Jamaat does not practice the politics of compromising with autocracy at night and protesting during the day.”
The discussion meeting was attended by family members of those killed in the July mass uprising, wounded fighters, and leaders and workers from various levels of the party.
