He further claimed that due to Jamaat's role in the 1971 genocide, the party is also viewing the events of the 2024 genocide as insignificant. He cited the support of the Jamaat Amir and its leaders and activists for Akhtaruzzaman as an example of this.
Rashed Khan also said that a case should be filed against Major (retd.) Akhtaruzzaman on charges of aiding and abetting the 2024 genocide. At the same time, he also raised the question whether Akhtaruzzaman has been cleared of the allegations against him due to joining Jamaat.
